Who we are

We’re Mike Horn and Tank Smith—two Atlanta-based comedians who’ve lost over 300 lbs between us and still kept our shirts on in the pool (sometimes). Shirts in the Pool is our podcast about the weird, funny, painful, and hopeful parts of changing your body and your life.

We talk weight loss, mental health, body image, and everything in between—with fellow comics, reality TV stars, and regular folks just trying to figure it out. It’s raw, hilarious, and real. No toxic diet culture. No fake before-and-afters. Just good conversations and bad decisions, shared honestly.

Tank Smith

Tank Smith is an Atlanta based comedian who grew up on the mean golf cart ridden streets of Peachtree City, GA. After getting his start in comedy in Raleigh, NC and becoming a regular at Goodnights Comedy Club, Tank made the move back south to Atlanta. Alongside his best friend, he hosts the Shirts in the Pool Podcast, where they talk about growing up fat and their combined 300lb weight loss journey. Tank also hosts the popular podcast, Full Service, where he delves into sex work and interviews industry professionals.

Tanks comedy is a blend of observational humor and real life stories taking inspiration from his unique upbringing as a black kid in the burbs.

Tank has toured around the country and has been featured at the Park Slope Comedy Festival, North Carolina Comedy Festival, Oak City Comedy Festival, and West End Comedy Festival in Atlanta. When he’s not on stage, you can find him on his bike, dodging cars all over Atlanta

Mike Horn

Mike Horn is a comedian from Raleigh, NC, known for his quick-witted, self-deprecating humor. Since starting his career in 2016, he became a semifinalist in NC’s Funniest Contest in 2018 and was selected for the North Carolina Comedy Festival in 2019 and 2024. He also made a guest appearance in support of Atlanta’s West End Comedy Festival in 2025.

With a story of losing over 200 lbs from a starting weight of 460 lbs (3 times!), Mike tackles body image, mental health, and the absurdities of dating with sharp, relatable punchlines. He co-hosts the podcast Shirts in the Pool with Tank Smith, diving into the comedic side of weight loss. You might also know him as Pizza Mike from MrBeast’s 24 Hours on Top of a Mountain.
